about

Throughout 2012, I began a songwriting project designed to push my capabilities as a songwriter, producer and musician. In Fronz Arp is a Tiny Crooked Orchestra, I released a song every two weeks, produced in as high a quality as possible on my minimal home studio (mostly based around Protools and a Shure Beta58 microphone) and distributed to Itunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and all good online stores.

about

Fronz Arp Brisbane, Australia

The strange machine which is Fronz Arp grinds like a tattered, angry little hurdy gurdy. With dramatic jaunt and seesawing melodies that have been compared to weird-pop wonders, such as David Bowie and Tom Waits

“...songs full of drama and action, designed to get pulses racing and yet still sounding both intricate and adventurous” Rave Magazine

Track Name: Fire
Help me I'm on fire
I'm burning from the inside out
The flames are getting hire
Consuming my skin
Love are you alone
Are you burning too?

When will you be mine
Darling I'm on fire

Never let me go
And hold me from the upside down
As around now
And the world revolves
Your skin upon my skin
Has a shock
Of electricity
That I'm longing to spark

Darling I'm on fire

Your a lonely dancer
Come hand me your dress
In the search for an answer
Can I find you there
Burning in secret
Like a candle flame
Twirling and dancing in time
Track Name: Good Morning, Junebug
Good morning, Junebug
I only wanna be with you
I only wanna be with you
The world is ending
But I'm waiting til the time is right
I'm waiting til my time is right

I wrote you on a paper heart
But the message was torn apart
And the pieces left were scattered to the wind
Now my words are adrift
I only wanna be with you
I only wanna be with you, Junebug

My mouth is full but the pages are empty
I only wanna wish you well
I only wanna wish you well
The sky started raining excuses
I need to find a place to hide
I need to find a place to hide

I wrote you on a paper heart
But the message was torn apart
And the pieces left were scattered to the wind
Your excuses are there turning over and over again
You turn around, you turn and there it is

Good morning, Junebug
I only wanna be with you
I only wanna be with you, Junebug
Track Name: The Edge of the World
If I stand on the edge of the world
Would you be there waiting for me
If I reached out to take your hand
I'm slipping through the cracks
To the places I can't see the darkness surround me

Why start now if it's already too late
Last words fade in the light of his heartache
At night creatures run through the forest of his reason

And you'd better wake up, better wake up

If I fall off the edge of the world
Would you be there waiting for the
Sound of my crashing if its too late to catch me

If I start now though it's too late
Would last words fade in the light of our heart ache
As night creatures run through the forest of our reasons
And you'd better wake up
But starting from now with the world on my shoulders
The sun rising up will be so much colder
At night creatures run through the forest of our reasons
And you'd better wake up

Would you be there to catch me
Track Name: Rails
The silence burns my eyes today
The sun falls cold against my skin
I hide my face in tattered grins

We're creeping round in circles
Peering though windows and doors
Searching for crack in the walls

For quiet prayers with answers
But they take away as much as the give
Folded like a letter in your hand

That says all you need is time
All you need is space
All you need to find
Is some way to get yourself back on the rails

The airport lines get longer
They never seem to come to an end
And change when you let your guard down

The sunlight burns my eyes today
As I'm lifted up towards the sky
Who would've thought it was so high

All you need is time
All you need is space
All you need to find
Is someone to get yourself back on the rails
Track Name: More for a Woman to Lose (Discarded Wives)
I went down to the streets within this town
That I probably didn't see until you fell
Where whores and men burn the world as they descend
And hand in hand dance their way to hell
Despite the cares that war within my head
I cannot turn away until I see
The final deed as she goes down on her knees
And at that moment our eyes meet

But I don't worry
Because its one thing for a man to choose
Between the heart he believes and the lover he leaves
But its more for a woman to lose

Skin and bone as I turned from the unknown
And ran before its teeth had sunken in
And anger burned like a fire building slow
And in that furnace my heart hardened
So emerging from the stone came justice and her scales
Blindfolded with vengeance, crying for repentance
But oh how I despair for you, I despair for you
Because maybe you're not the person you thought I would be

But I don't worry
Because its one thing for a man to choose
Between the heart he believes and the lover he leaves
But its more for a woman to lose

I'm just a discarded wife
I'll erase my old life
And I'll come back ready to survive
Track Name: Now I'm Really Alive
I saw a man who was hanging by a thread
Suspended above the water by an edge
Hung by himself like a hope against the world
He said "I'm gonna fly like a bird through the air
If its just another day that I'm not really alive"

Spread out his arms like an albatrosses wings
A waiting Jesus Christ poised to bear the hammers sting
Lent out and peered from the height of his disdain
He said "sometimes it isn't enough to be brave
If its just another day that I'm not really alive"

And I found myself unable to turn away
And I found myself eternally
In his last moment

And before he hit the sea
A smile lit his face
If its just another day
Its just another day
But now I'm really alive
Track Name: You've Changed
I can see clearly now
I have my eyes open
You could get what I want
But I will do whatever it takes

It could be a lonely climb
We could be torn open
As we pleed with a silent gun
Which one of us standing over
You've changed

So stay away... um
From the lonely places
You've changed so much
I don't know how
You can escape now
From the lonely places
You've changed so much

I can see clearly now
I have my heart open
You could wear a bold disguise
You could get underneith my skin

To hide from the wolves outside
Who howl in the night when the hunters prey
Til I turn it upside down
I will do whatever it takes
You've changed
Track Name: The Crowded Shadows
Take whats yours
I'll take what is left by the door
If that's anything at all
Tiny things that
Build and encircle us
Until I can't see you anymore

We change so we won't hurt anymore
But maybe I still want you
When the crowded shadows fill up the empty room
And whisper to me

Be careful where you walk
There are strangers up ahead
And I cannot understand
How I became that man

Don't be frightened
Of your decision you
Made your decision alone
Don't be scared
If it's broken rebuild it
And bind it like broken bones

We change so we won't hurt anymore
But maybe I still want you
When the crowded shadows fill up the empty room
And whisper to me

Be careful where you walk
There are strangers up ahead
And I cannot understand
How I became that man

You caught me off my guard
With the dangers up ahead
And I cannot understand
How I became this man

The road is long
And gets stranger as it turns
But I cannot understand
How I became this man

We change so we won't hurt anymore
But maybe I still want to
When the crowded shadows fill up the empty room
And whisper to me
Track Name: Did You Think Our Love Would Hide You
Did you think our love would hide you
From the killers in your head
Well I would put myself before you
So the fight me instead

Did you think our love would hide you
From the fear of being found
Well I would lay myself before you
So the find me on the ground

And let them take what they wanted from me
Let the take what the wanted from me

Did you think our love would hide you
Though the darkness fills the day
Well I would set myself on fire
To light your way

And let them take what they wanted from me
Let the take what the wanted from me

Let the take what the wanted
As much as they taunted me
Let them take all oh own
Scratch the skin from my bones from me
Let them cut out my lungs with my heart and my tongue
Well I've said all I wanted to say
If it gives them a reason to leave in you peace
Then I've saved all I wanted to save
For me
If they leave you be
Track Name: Technology (Keeping Us Apart)
I'm afraid that technology
Is pushing us farther and farther apart
To float like ghosts in the modern world
So pull out the cord to my life support

And when its gone
You're standing all alone
With no where left turn
And their screaming for your blood

Is that why you never run
When the danger comes
Though you could die, you could die

Where are you when I need you here
There's a window ledge creeping towards my feet
My final cries lost in the city noise
In the click clack hum rising above the street

Now you're gone
I'm standing on my own
With no one left to become
And they're waiting for my blood

Is that why I never run
When the danger comes
Though I could die, I could die

Hey won't let me in
Now the world is crumbling
What more is there to do
But stay alive

I'm afraid that technology
Is keeping us farther and father apart
And I'll won't find my one true love
Until I'm old
Track Name: The Light Keeps Burning Out Too Soon
It was too late I decided long ago
That the lonely room in my heart
Would be locked up tight under chain and key
Like a secret locked in the dark
Track Name: Death of Television
Come on Marlene
With the death of TV
And the light bulbs burning out
We don't know how long this silence is going to last
I can hear as you breathe
I'm as tall as the trees
With a fire burning inside out
Who knows when this silence is going to last

Like a haze rising up
You turn and there it is
Like a mountain top
You turn and there it is

I need to run home run home run home

Like a caught up trapeze

I'm alive hanging upside down
We don't know how long this silence is gonna last
I'm begging you please
I'm down on my knees
Please don't leave me in lost and found
When we don't know how long this darkness is gonna last

Like a haze rising up
You turn and there it is
Like a mountain top
You turn and there it is

I need to run home run home run home
Track Name: A Less Traditional Christmas
The snow that falls on Central Park
Lands on every boy and girl
From the corners of the town
Every land around the world

For those of us that celebrate
A less traditional Christmas day
Wouldn't it be great
If everyone was safe
Just one day in the year

The lights that shine like sequin stars
Define the paths for all to see
To find their way through darkest night
From desert dune to city street

For those of us that celebrate
A less traditional Christmas day
Wouldn't it be great
If everyone was safe and sound
Without the distance to keep us apart
We're closer than we are
We're closer than we are

And for one day in the year
If no one had to fear
No matter where they're from
Or what they name they're God
Or where they find they're love
For one day in the year
