about

The lyrics of this song was inspired by the story of Craig Gee, a young man from Sydney who was brutally assaulted in 2007 while walking along holding his boyfriend's hand. The incident sparked a vigil against rising homophobic violence in Sydney and Craig went on to lead the 2008 Mardi Gras with Margaret Cho

lyrics

I knew you'd been through a lot
Like you've been walking through the dark
You thought I was someone else and started to protect yourself

But under our make up
We're both just the same boys
We're all just the same
In different ways but
Here under our make up
We're all just the same

I thought but I wasn't sure
And you were feeling insecure
I thought you'd pushed me away
But you wiped your tears across my face

You said under our make up
We're both just the same boys
We're all just the same
Here comes the shake up
That under our make up
We're all just the same

I'm such a mess but I saw it coming
If you missed the start well here's the part where we're in danger
And with nowhere left to turn we just run and run and run

In different ways
Here under our make up
We're all just the same
Here comes the shake up
Under our make up
We're all just the same

Fronz Arp Brisbane, Australia

The strange machine which is Fronz Arp grinds like a tattered, angry little hurdy gurdy. With dramatic jaunt and seesawing melodies that have been compared to weird-pop wonders, such as David Bowie and Tom Waits

“...songs full of drama and action, designed to get pulses racing and yet still sounding both intricate and adventurous” Rave Magazine
